I'm the 20%

This morning I walked to an appointment and passed several people who were waiting for the bus. I wondered if they were happy. Or if they even thought about if they were happy. As I sat in the lobby waiting for my appointment to start I wondered if most people are truly happy. I googled it. And research shows that only 20% of all people are truly happy. Bummer. Isn't the purpose of life to be happy?! That is (one of the) purpose of my life.

I am too addicted to my cell phone. Way too addicted. I'm going to start leaving it in my car. Or at home. Or get a flip phone. Life was more simple when I had a flip phone.

The weather is getting nice in Seattle. Im renting a boat this weekend. Can not wait.

My green sunglasses make me smile. A lot.

Im in the process of having a beautiful life. And I am in the process of being the 20% of happy people!

Reminder

I needed this reminder first thing today. I certainly believe that it's true!

Saturday, July 7, 2012

I am going to bed thankful. And I'm thankful for that because I have had a really heavy heart and pit in my stomach for the last couple of days.

I am currently on Decatur Island ready for bed with a blanket of stars above me. I'm listening to the crickets sing and Harley breathing loudly. I had uplifting conversations today while cruising around the San Juan Islands and talked about the most beautiful things in life. And business. But talking about business in that setting made it completely pleasurable! I felt high. High on life and excited about where I currently am and the direction I am headed.

Amanda reminded me something that her (and now my) Reverend says. He says, "This or something better!" This, my current reality is pretty darn good. I have beautiful people around me, a loving family, an adorable dog, a job that I love and I have morales and standards that I appreciate. My life is currently great and I know it will get better. And that's amazing! I know that some of the best days of my life are ahead of me. And I've had some really amazing days!

Life. Create what you want. And love it.

And a few snapshots of the good parts of the week!

Thank you, life!

24 hours

Geez. It is amazing what 24 hours can do! Yesterday at this time I was down in the dumps but right now I feel great. I feel really really really great. I feel special. I feel loved. I feel worthy. And I feel that way because I am that way. It's a great feeling to know that if weren't yourself, you would want to be friends with yourself. I like me. I would want to be friends with me if I weren't me. I like what I think about when I'm alone. I like how I view the world and people. I like the kind of friend I am. I like my giddiness for kids. And for nature. And adventure. I like that I am a hard worker. I am honest and forgiving and I would do whatever I could to help and love the people around me. I'm thankful to God and his ability and willingness to answer my prayers. He answered my prayers today and let me feel his love by opening my eyes to some of the goodness inside of me. His arms were around me. I feel so much better. I feel blessed. And I'm spending my Friday night on my couch with my dog watching animal planet. And I'm really happy about it.

My life is currently a dream. Or a nightmare. Whatever it is, it doesnt feel real. I tried to have a great day today but I kept learning more and more news that has left my heart and mind paralyzed. I have seen the true colors of people who are so close to me. People that I love. I have seen them do things that I never thought imaginable. And then i have heard them lie about it. To my face. Over and over and over. At first I was mad. Then I felt sad for them. Because they are better then what they are doing. I believe that people have all sorts of sides to them and have the capcity to be great at times and really shitty at other times. I believe it is easy to get lost and forget what's important. It is easy to get off center. I'm so sad about the current circumstances and the people who have hurt me. But it encourages me to stay centered. It encourages me to welcome good and beautiful things into my life. And it encourages me to rely on God- even more than normal.

Sunrise

This morning I woke up thankful for the sunrise an thankful that God created new days. When we have a bad day we have the opportunity to wake up the next day and make it better. And we make it better by being better. I am choosing to be better today. I will not act of of fear today. I will be loving and kind. I will help those who need it. I will be honest and true. I will be thankful and i will be aware of the blessings that are all around me.

Yesterday was a horrible day for me. Today will be better.

Rain

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain pounding on my deck. At first I was bummed because I'm attempting to run in the mornings but then I got excited. I went running. And I got soaked!

When I got home from my run I was drenched but Harley was more drenched then me. I laughed and I think Harley would have laughed too if he was able to.

This morning I am thankful for the rain and for my dog and for newness. I am thankful for my body and for fun experiences. I am thankful for my heart and it's ability to love. I am thankful for the people in my life that make loving so easy. I am thankful for my life and all of the amazing - and not so amazing things that happen. And I'm thankful for my dreams because they are guiding my feet!

And now - get ready - Harley Boy!
